Call the professional if you face difficulties cleaning your rugs at home. You should be approached with caution while cleaning your valuable rugs.
You need to vacuum your rugs at least twice a week. Make sure you vacuum both sides of the rug. Once all the dust is taken out of your rug, you can lay-down your rug outside on the paved ground. Take a garden hose and water it down and get it all wet.
It is important to follow the mixing instructions on any store brought rug shampoo or a mild dish detergent. You can add couple of capfuls of mild dish detergent to a bucket of luke warm water. Do not use hot water to avoid shrinking of fibres or color fading. Test the solution before use on a smaller corner of the rug to make sure colors don’t run. You need to allow leather of shampoo or detergent deep into the rug for several minutes before rinsing. Before you finish make sure the water is clear from soapsuds.
Lay down the rug flat to dry. After that, once the topside is dry. You can flip it over to make sure bottom side of the rug is dry as well.
